Mission Statement:
Sustainable NWA is
a non-profit organization that acts to increase awareness of and
support for
best
practices in sustainability, including
lifestyle,
business operations, the natural and built environment, solid
waste, transportation, water and sanitation, biodiversity, health
and air quality, population growth, agriculture, and energy.
Emphasizing people, prosperity, and the planet.
Sustainable NWA
was conceived and formed to
build strong
partnerships between public and private stakeholders, leverage
resources, and coordinate Northwest Arkansas’ many sustainable
and environmental leaders, creating a collaborative coalition and
an interconnected network of like minded advocates.
Goals:

foster dialogue among diverse constituencies;
encourage
and assist community stakeholders in developing, implementing,
and maintaining agendas around the principles of sustainability;
·
create
opportunities to learn about sustainable living principles and
practices;
·
produce the
“Twist of Green Festival”, creating awareness of and support for
sustainability in the community;
·
produce the
“Sustainable Science Fair”, creating “thinking outside of the
box” and establish a “Sustainable Science Fair Scholarship
Foundation”.
·
establish a
“Center for Green Technology”, a certified demonstration and
learning facility serving the civic, public, business, and
building sectors; and help promote sustainable economic
development.
